From bursting with confidence in my corporate career to being terrified to be visible in my business!
Before starting my business I had a decade-long career in International Corporate Banking.
Standing up in front of a room full of people giving presentations and talking about the company’s products was something I did regularly and with confidence.
However, when I started my business, I realised it was very different being visible and talking about myself as well as selling and sharing my own services!
I encountered all manner of visibility blocks, and fears around selling, and lacked confidence on video and talking about myself.
My fears of being visible were so severe my partner had to set up my Facebook account for me!
I didn’t want to ever post photos of myself or talk about myself. And I never shared my paid offerings for fear of judgement, being spammy and ‘annoying’ people!
Eventually, I was showing up and being visible. I was enjoying creating video content and even felt confident.
Yet something was still off!
I wasn’t seeing the results I should have been getting for all my hard work and effort and my visibility.
Very little engagement and little to no sales!
→ Providing lots of “value” but this led to no engagement.
→ Adding captions, intro’s and outro’s so they looked more “professional”.
→ Emulating other trending audios and creators.
A simple three minute video would take me HOURS to create.
I would write down word-for-word what I was going to say so I could memorise it like a script for a hit Broadway play!
Every time I missed a word I’d stop the recording and start again from scratch (sound familiar?).
I was doing EVERYTHING & while I was getting more confident on video – it was NOT leading to clients & I felt like I wasn’t being myself at all.
I took my new found confidence (simply from creating lots of terrible videos) & decided to trust myself.
Over time, creating video’s became easier & way less time consuming but they also became fun again. The results that I saw from throwing away the rules absolutely blew me away…
→ People were starting to comment on my videos. They were telling me how much they loved them. How ‘real’, relatable and authentic I was and how much they loved my energy.
→ They were commenting how much they could relate to what I was saying and/or how helpful they found it. They were telling me they were inspired and motivated by it. And how simple I made things for them.
→ My videos started to convert to clients too.
→ People would reach out and tell me they had been watching my videos for a while. And several became clients from there.
→ I had discovered video messaging at this time too and how to leverage it. I tried it, tested it and then got strategic with it. People loved it and it resulted in an approximately 80% conversion rate to clients.
And the best, most unexpected part?
It’s greatly increased my confidence as a HUMAN.
I don’t cringe when I see or hear myself on video.
In fact, it’s made me really love my voice and how I look. It makes me feel really proud of myself.
I focus on the things I like about myself rather than what I don’t like.
My relationship with myself has gone to another level & this has changed my business & my life in more ways than I can count.

I’m a vegan, I adore all animals, lover of nature, I speak German and I’m currently learning Italian.
My favourite book genre is fantasy. I’ve read the Harry Potter books a ridiculous number of times – and once in German! And I’m a 1/3 Generator in Human Design.

Some of the animal charities I’ve donated to are: Rolda, Soi Dogs, Elephant conversation, Veto Tierschutz, Til The Cows Come Home, Paws Give Me Purpose, Dogs Aid, Vier Pfoten (Four Paws International), PETA, Humane Society International, Rainforest Action Group and more.
I love to support smaller chartities too that don’t get as much media attention and don’t have big budgets for advertising.
I have a particular love in my heart for cat charities and sanctuaries because of my beloved gorgeous Galadriel. But I love supporting any charities who do great work to help animals of all species.
